Who We Are
AIMAS is an organization of internal martial artists spread throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. We provide instruction in the internal martial arts, certify instructors, and provide instructor training. Perhaps the most important function of our organization is to provide an opportunity for individuals training in many locations to interact together in a supportive environment. We convene as a group 3 to 6 times a year for various scheduled events including martial arts seminars and instructor training classes. We keep in contact through the internet and train together at our local schools throughout the year. If you are interested in learning the internal martial arts, we would be happy to put you in contact with an AIMAS certified instructor. AIMAS was founded by maturing external martial artists who found that by training in the internal arts they were able to rehabilitate old injuries while continuing to develop martial arts skills. Many of these founders were martial arts teachers in disparate locations who relied on each other to stay motivated and share experiences. Today AIMAS members range from beginners to lifetime martial artists with many decades of training and teaching experience.
